How To Install Steamos On A Flash Drive
SteamOS from USB Stick
Hi guys,
is it possible to run SteamOS from a USB stick? Considering my Laptop from work has pretty good specs but I dont want to install steam directly on the disk, (only solid phase drive slot) so I was thinking nigh installing Steam Bone on a USB3.0 Stick. Do you call back I can play CS:GO over the stick with same FPS like on a disk?
Thank you!

I'd propose a iii.0 external bulldoze, like an ssd. The trouble with USB drives isn't really the speed, it's the lack of logic or controller. An external drive is still a total drive with all the bells and whistles. Hell yous might even exist able to kick windows with a workaround.
Tldr yes you can do it, but invest in an external drive for a better experience.

You could simply the boot times alone would probably be horrible. Not to mention size, if yous're using an actual USB instead of an external hard drive.

I think information technology should be alright because it is USB 3.0. I think loading times will be longer but it shoudlnt touch on the FPS considering it rans out of RAM it remember

Linux actually doesn't care if you install it on a dedicated bulldoze or usb thumb drive
the most "dumb" way would be to accept 2 usb sticks
on one put the installation iso, now boot from that stick and install the operating system onto the other usb stick
I would however recommend against SteamOS because information technology is horrible outdated and didn't go any attention from Valve in years
depending on how new your hardware is it could potentially even not run at all due to this
you are probably improve off with something like GamerOS

I do not know.
Only why not give it a effort?
